Both apps were launched on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, and are available for download right now.

LICCalc says: This is a big step. Earlier, LIC policyholders had to visit branches or agents for these tasks. Now, you can do everything from your phone while sitting at home.
The app runs on LIC’s DIVE platform (Digital Innovation & Value Enhancement). This platform has already processed over 23 lakh digital policies.
Super Sales Saathi App: For LIC Agents
LIC has over 13 lakh agents across India. The new Super Sales Saathi app is built just for them.
Here is what agents can do with this app:
- 🤖 AI-based sales suggestions – The app tells agents which policy to suggest to which customer
- 📊 Performance dashboard – Agents can see their own sales numbers
- 👥 Customer management – Keep track of all customers and get auto-reminders
- 📚 Digital sales kit – No need to carry paper brochures anymore
This app will help agents work smarter and serve customers faster.
Why Did LIC Launch These Apps Now?
For a long time, people said LIC is behind private insurance companies when it comes to technology. Private insurers already had good mobile apps. LIC was still relying on branches and agents.
Now, LIC is catching up.
At the launch event, DFS Secretary M. Nagaraju (a senior government official) said something very important:
“Unless we are digitally very agile, we will not be able to offer products the younger generation will be seeking. The private sector offers easy and comfortable service. Government organizations, including LIC, must match that.”

He also reminded LIC that it has data from 29 crore policies – that is a huge amount of information. He said LIC should use this data better.

What Should LIC Policyholders Do Now?
If you have an LIC policy, here is my simple advice:
Download the MyLIC app today.
Even if you don’t need it right now, install it and complete your registration. When you need to pay a premium or check your policy status, the app will save you a trip to the branch.
Also make sure that:
- Your mobile number is updated with LIC
- Your email ID is registered
- Your PAN is linked to your policy (for loans and other services)
A Small Honest Take (From LICCalc)
This is a good move by LIC. Not great, but good. Why?
The good part: After so many years, LIC finally has a modern app. This will help millions of policyholders, especially in small towns where branches are far away.
The not-so-good part: Private insurers like HDFC Life, ICICI Prudential, and SBI Life already had these features for years. LIC is late. But as they say – better late than never.
Also, the app will only be useful if it works smoothly without crashes or errors. We will have to wait and see.
